Getting a good performance from left fielder Bill St.john, the Billings Mustangs defeated the Minneapolis Freeze, 9-1. St.john was 3-5 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4 for the Mustangs. The Mustangs improved to 58-43.

St.john had a game-changing single in the top of the sixth. On a first pitch slider from Jorge Olivo, he banged a run-scoring single to center, giving the Mustangs a 2-1 lead. It was the 105th hit of the year for St.john.

"We looked pretty good up and down," said Billings manager Bill Martin.
