The Bomberos had to overcome a fine effort from Calgary pitcher Barrett Lamb to grab a narrow 2-1 win at Casa de Fuego. Lamb went 7.1 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Espanola goes to 56-48. The win puts them 2˝ games up in their division.

The Bomberos got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Tomiji Kohara. For the game, Kohara was 1 for 1. In the bottom of the eighth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 6th hit of the season gave Espanola a 2-1 lead.

"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Kohara said.
