Freeze Come Up Short at Vancouver
|
Fans who gathered at Stanley Park saw a good contest between the Vancouver Canadians and Minneapolis Freeze.
The Vancouver Canadians topped the Minneapolis Freeze, 6-5, in Nick Adenhart League action at Stanley Park. The player of the game was Vancouver pitcher Wilson Polk. Vancouver reliever Andy Ryan picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. David Williams absorbed the loss. Jake Adkins got the save, his 1st in 1 chances.
Had Peer Ehles not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Ehles hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Canadians.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Polk said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
Vancouver is in last place in the Nick Adenhart League Bobby Cox Division with a record of 44-56.
