Though he had a great game, Ian Wechter could not single-handedly produce a win for Pasadena. Coronado won the game, 5-2. Wechter was named the player of the game. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. Coronado reliever Fu-po Eng picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Antonio Bayuga absorbed the loss. Pasadena's current losing streak is now 4 games.

Jimmy Wynn had a big run-scoring single for the Phantoms in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Coronado leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from Bryan Fulcher and stroked the single to right. It was his 58th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Phantoms ahead, 2-0.

"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Wynn told the Coronado Daily.
