The Dallas Texans wiggled past the Maple Marauders, 3-2, at Metroplex Park. Dallas pitcher Dan Edwards earned player of the game honors. Adrien Clément picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Hariz Sahir was tagged with the loss. The win brings the Texans to 16-11, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
The Texans got a big at-bat from first baseman John Thompson. For the game, Thompson went 4-5 with a triple and 2 doubles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the tenth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 6th double of the season gave Dallas a 3-2 lead.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Maple manager Jesús Alfaro.
