Fort Worth left fielder Pat Yelland was a significant contributor in his team's 5-3 triumph over the Detroit Death Stars. He was 3-4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He drove in 3 runs for Fort Worth. Bobby Saxon picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Koshiro Ohayashi was tagged with the loss. The Cats bumped their record to 52-46 with this latest triumph.
The Cats got a big at-bat from designated hitter Josh Wheeler. For the game, Wheeler was 1-4 with a walk. In the top of the seventh, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 18th hit of the season gave Fort Worth a 4-3 lead.
