Flash Win at Billings, 2-1
|
The Flash grabbed a win, 2-1, at Cobb Field, overcoming a fine effort from Billings pitcher Ian Portz. Portz went 7 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Gabriel Bernard got the win, improving to 4-7. He worked 6 innings, giving up 1 run on 6 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 1. The Flash bumped their record to 48-48 with this latest triumph.
The Flash got a big at-bat from designated hitter Dan Thibodeau. For the game, Thibodeau went 2-4 with 2 singles. In the top of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 111st hit of the season gave Fairfield a 2-1 lead.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Thibodeau told the Fairfield News.
