Victory Pushes Republic Record to 18-8

So Cal starter Masafumi Tamura had a strong outing against the Cabo San Lucas Toreros at House of the Republic. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 3-2 win. Pin-zhen Au, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 9th save. The Toreros fall to 9-15 and continue their lackluster start in 2034.
The Republic got a big at-bat from designated hitter Zeus Mayhem. For the game, Mayhem was 1 for 4 with a home run. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave So Cal a 3-2 lead.
"Masafumi was throwing strikes, locating well," said So Cal manager Munenori Sato.
