Late Rally by Freeze Secures Win
|
The Minneapolis Freeze picked up a win at House of Pain, knocking off the Reno Raiders, 7-5. Starting pitcher Jorge Olivo was an essential part of his team's success. Minneapolis reliever Alex Alvarez got the win, raising his record to 4-2. Gerry LaForest was tagged with the loss. Rodolfo Reyes converted his 15th save in 17 tries.
This game was not decided until late. With one out in the top of the ninth, Santiago Sierra grounded out, driving in 1 run. The Freeze took the lead, 6-5.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Sierra told the Minneapolis Today.
Minneapolis is now riding a 3-game win streak.
