Death Stars Get Past Joplin for 4-3 Win
|
It was pandemonium at The Death Star after an exciting walk-off win.
Joplin left fielder Takashi Tsuruta had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 4-3, to Detroit at The Death Star. Tsuruta was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Kagera Sokoine got credit for the win, improving to 3-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Detroit pinch hitter Moo-hyun Boone, facing Norberto Barrón, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Death Stars the 4-3 win.
"This place sure got loud," said Loren Garrison, the Detroit manager.
Detroit now has a 3-game win streak.
