Vancouver left fielder Tameyoshi Okuda had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 4-3, to Albuquerque at Albuquerque Sports Stadium. Okuda went 2-3 with a double. Albuquerque reliever Ricardo Betancourt picked up the win to move to 1-1. Wilson Polk suffered the loss. Albuquerque now has a 5-game win streak.
Sam Ryerse drew 2 walks in 3 plate appearances for Albuquerque. The 22-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Wilson Polk. It was his 2nd walk of the season.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Albuquerque manager Tom Robertson.
