Coal Miners Get Road Win, 7-4
|
The Antioch Coal Miners dealt the Astoria Argonauts a 7-4 loss at Golden Fleece Park. Gerard Vivian was the star on offense. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Antioch is now 63-33, 8˝ games up in the Darryl Kile League Cito Gaston League.
The Coal Miners got a big at-bat from left fielder John Johnson. For the game, Johnson was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. In the top of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 19th home run of the season gave Antioch a 7-3 lead.
