Death Stars Get Past Joplin for 6-5 Win
The Detroit Death Stars walked off with a big win today at The Death Star.

Victor Portillo had a good game, but he could not keep the Joplin Fireballs from falling, 6-5, to the Detroit Death Stars at The Death Star. The Joplin center fielder was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once in the loss. With the win, Detroit has a record of 53-42. Joplin falls to 58-36.

The Death Stars were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when pinch hitter Sean Mizuno turned a full count cutter from Norberto Barrón into a 2-run triple. The walk-off triple sent a roar through the crowd and gave Detroit a thrilling 6-5 win.

"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Mizuno said in his postgame press conference.
