The Bronx Bombers topped the Billings Mustangs, 10-9, with youngster Jesus Chavez playing a key role. Chavez went 4 for 4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI for the Bombers in the win. Bronx reliever Vicente Valenzuela was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Rafael Rodríguez took the loss for Billings. The Bombers improved to 36-59.

Vincent Robinson was the walk-off hero for Bronx. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Bombers pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Robinson. "And not try to do too much."
