Cats Drop Canadians with Late Score
|
The Vancouver Canadians got a sterling performance from pitcher Domingo Trinidad, but the Cats still prevailed, 1-0. Trinidad was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball. Everton Mailes converted his 21st save in 24 tries. Vancouver now has a 11-game losing streak.
Jerry Schnoor drove in one run for Fort Worth. The 22-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Domingo Trinidad. It was his 11th RBI of the season.
"I believe in our guys," said Fort Worth skipper Walt Dobson. "I like the energy they're playing with."
