Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Cacti
|
The Albuquerque Cacti faced a tough opponent in Canton pitcher Bruce Easton, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Albuquerque Sports Stadium by a final score of 3-2. Easton went 7.2 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Dan Thompson got credit for the win, improving to 4-5. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings. Albuquerque has now won 3 in a row.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 12th inning, when Albuquerque right fielder Luis Colón, facing Luis Marés, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Cacti the 3-2 win.
Colón said afterward that he was "glad the fans were treated to a good ballgame."
