Reno played host to Joplin at the friendly confines of House of Pain.

The Reno Raiders stopped the Joplin Fireballs, 8-2, behind an impressive performance from Ken Donovan. The 25-year old left fielder made life miserable for Joplin pitching. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The Raiders raised their record to 41-51.

Gary Carter chipped in for Reno with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Carter told a Reno News reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
