Bomberos Drop Titans with Late Score
|
The Espanola Bomberos bested the Chicago Titans by a score of 7-6, with third baseman Jerry Munoz getting the main credit. On the day, Munoz went 4 for 4 with 4 singles and a walk for the Bomberos. Espanola reliever Lex Herrewijn picked up the win, upping his record to 2-3. Brian Mullins shouldered the loss. Chicago now has a 7-game losing streak.
The clutch at-bat in the bottom of the ninth belonged to Munoz. Facing Brian Mullins with the bases loaded, the Espanola third baseman had a run-scoring walk. Game over, walk-off style!
"I believe in our guys," said Espanola skipper Josh Zeh. "I like the energy they're playing with."
