Rockets Get Close Win Over Flash
|
The Reno Rockets defeated the Fairfield Flash, 9-8, at Red Rocket Field today. Leading the charge for Reno was second baseman Yan Rossi. He went 4 for 5 with 2 home runs and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 6. The win was Anthony McIntyre's in relief. His record improves to 3-3. Paul Calamy took the loss for Fairfield. The Flash, at 44-44, have lost 6 straight games.
Rossi had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a 1-1 changeup from Paul Calamy, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Rockets a 9-8 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Rossi.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Rossi.
