Calgary and Bronx played a hard-fought contest at Bronx Ballpark.

Calgary overcame a superlative game from Dost Ghuman to beat Bronx, 2-1. The Bronx pitcher took player of the game honors in a losing cause. He threw 7 innings of shutout ball. Munemori Abe got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings.

The Kodiaks got a big at-bat from designated hitter Roberto Rivera. For the game, Rivera went 1-4 with a double. In the top of the ninth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 14th double of the season gave Calgary a 2-1 lead.

"It was a tough night at the plate," said Bronx manager Carl Smith.

The Bombers, now 34-56, have lost 4 straight.
