The Antioch Coal Miners eked out a 2-1 win versus the Bronx Bombers at The Coal Mine. Nobody did more than pitcher Takeji Ogawa, who captured player of the game honors. The Coal Miners bumped their record to 56-29 with this latest triumph.

The Coal Miners got a big at-bat from shortstop Herman Wolf. For the game, Wolf was 1-1. In the bottom of the tenth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 49th hit of the season gave Antioch a 2-1 lead.

"We played a good game and came out on top," said Wolf.
