Calgary first baseman Jang-lu Xiang was sensational. He was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Peoria beat the Kodiaks, 10-5. Xiang was named the player of the game despite the loss. The win was credited to Sergio Padilla in relief. His record improves to 5-5. Fred Naylor took the loss. Peoria has now won 5 straight, while the Kodiaks have lost 3 in a row.

The Caterpillars got a big at-bat from shortstop Mike Burge. For the game, Burge was 1 for 5, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 89th hit of the season gave Peoria a 5-4 lead.

"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Burge told the Peoria Citizen. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
