Freeze Get Close Win Over Fireballs
The inspired effort of Joplin first baseman Jim Bungay was not enough to prevent a 7-6 loss to the Minneapolis Freeze. Bungay was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The first-place Fireballs have lost 8 consecutive games.

Ernesto Argueta was the walk-off hero for Minneapolis. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Freeze pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"It was a nice win for our side today," said Freeze manager John Justin. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
