Bomberos Win at Silver Lake, 8-3
|
Spirited fans at Ashton Gate greeted the Silver Lake Baristas for their clash with the Espanola Bomberos.
Espanola Bomberos starter Mitsuzuka Nakano was in fine form against the Silver Lake Baristas at Ashton Gate, leading his team to a 8-3 win. Nakano went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 1, and struck out 5. His record improves to 6-4.
Brendan Webb went 1 for 3 with 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Espanola. The 22-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the third. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Douggie Pitchford. It was his 61st walk of the season.
"We had a good game plan," Nakano said, "and we were able to execute it."
At 41-43, the Bomberos are currently 4th in the Nick Adenhart League Tony La Russa Division.
