The Fairfield Flash overcame a good performance by Bowling Green center fielder Juan López to knock off Bowling Green, 5-4, at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. López was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Bowling Green's current losing streak is now 4 games.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Fairfield designated hitter Dan Thibodeau, facing Masamichi Takeda, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Flash the 5-4 win.

"We squandered some opportunities," said Bowling Green manager Jorge Magana.
