The Minneapolis Freeze relied on the hitting of left fielder Ernesto Argueta to stop the Joplin Fireballs, 3-2. For the game, Argueta was 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Rodolfo Reyes got credit for the win, improving to 4-3. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 1 innings. Minneapolis has now won 4 straight.

Argueta had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a full count fastball from Jacob Willard, he banged a solo home run to right-center, giving the Freeze a 3-2 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Argueta.

"We squandered some opportunities," said Joplin manager Chance Jackson.
