Racers Lose, 5-3, at The Hole
|
The Pasadena Bumblebees topped the Bowling Green Racers by the score of 5-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to right fielder Erik Butler. Butler was 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Bumblebees on the day. The winner was Pasadena reliever Kohei Hayashi, now 1-4. The loser was Gerardo Garza. António Mejía converted his 7th save in 11 tries.
Butler had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-0 fastball from Gerardo Garza, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Bumblebees a 5-2 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Butler.
Butler called the win "a collective effort."
