Black Knights Bang Out 7-0 Win Versus Santa Fe
|
The Brooklyn Black Knights defeated the Santa Fe Fuego, 7-0, in Roberto Clemente League action at Blue Ivy Stadium, with Brooklyn pitcher Jesús Díaz named player of the game. Kunihiko Mizuno closed the game out for Brooklyn, earning his 1st save. Losses have been few and far between for the Fuego so far this season. Their record drops to 2-1.
The Black Knights got a big at-bat from second baseman Sadahige Taniguchi. For the game, Taniguchi went 2-5 with 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 4th hit of the season gave Brooklyn a 1-0 lead.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Taniguchi told the Brooklyn Daily News.
