Canadians Bang Out 6-0 Win Versus Detroit
|
José Rodríguez made an impact in the 6-0 Vancouver win over Detroit. Rodríguez, who is tied for 4th in the NAL in triples with 4, went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Javier Ballina went 5.1 innings for Vancouver to pick up the win. The left-hander was charged with no earned runs. He scattered 4 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 5. His record improves to 5-4. Tokuma Taihei converted his 2nd save in 2 tries.
Steve Osburn, who is tied for 7th in the NAL in doubles with 19, chipped in for Vancouver with a solo home run in the top of the second. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.
"Feels good to get the job done," Osburn said after the game.
The Canadians bumped their record to 39-39 with this latest triumph.
