The Astoria Argonauts and Indian Wells Aeropostales played an exciting game at Stars Field.
The Astoria Argonauts did just enough to sneak past the Indian Wells Aeropostales, 4-3, at Stars Field. Astoria pitcher Ryouhei Kondo earned player of the game honors. Astoria reliever Bill Harris was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Kevin Spurr took the loss. Artashes Injeyan notched his 23rd save in 30 chances.
The Argonauts got a big at-bat from first baseman Roberto Torres. For the game, Torres was 1-4 with a home run. In the top of the ninth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 16th home run of the season gave Astoria a 4-3 lead.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Torres. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
The Argonauts bumped their record to 44-35 with this latest triumph.
