Bumblebees Stymie Silver Lake, Take 2-1 Win

Ashton Gate was the site of a tense game between the Silver Lake Baristas and Pasadena Bumblebees.
The Pasadena Bumblebees did just enough to sneak past the Silver Lake Baristas, 2-1, at Ashton Gate. Pasadena pitcher Jerry Kennedy earned player of the game honors. In 7 innings, Kennedy surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 4. He allowed no runs.
The Bumblebees got a big at-bat from designated hitter Carl Eveleigh. For the game, Eveleigh was 2 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the sixth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 6th double of the season gave Pasadena a 2-0 lead.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Pasadena manager Ramón Rosário said.
Even with the win, the Bumblebees have a dismal 24-52 record.
