The Joplin Fireballs and Chicago Titans provided some drama at The War Dome.

The Chicago Titans topped the Joplin Fireballs, 2-1, in Nick Adenhart League action at The War Dome. The player of the game was Chicago pitcher and Sango, Japan native Noritoshi Sato. In 6 innings, Sato surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run.

Jason Corcoran aided the Chicago cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the first. For the game, the designated hitter went 2-4 with a double.

"We were in it," said Joplin manager Chance Jackson. "We just didn't score enough runs."

The Titans bumped their record to 38-35 with this latest triumph.
