|
The Indian Wells Aeropostales defeated the Fairfield Flash, 11-6, at Stars Field. Indian Wells shortstop Pramana Djambek was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 4-4 with 2 home runs, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 4 runs and driving in 4. Indian Wells reliever Jose Avilez was the winner. His record is now 3-3. The losing pitcher was Jamie Newitt. After today's action, Indian Wells sits at 36-39, while Fairfield falls to 39-33.
Djambek had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-0 slider from Jamie Newitt, he banged a solo home run to left-center, giving the Aeropostales a 7-6 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for Djambek.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Mario Perez said.
