Baristas Stymie Coronado, Take 3-0 Win
|
Silver Lake right-hander Douggie Pitchford was in fine form, shutting out the Coronado Phantoms, 3-0. Bhanuratha Vaithu notched his 10th save in 11 chances. At 33-39, the Baristas are currently 5th in the Nick Adenhart League Tony La Russa Division.
In the bottom of the eighth, Ron Marshall stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Phantoms were trailing 3-0, but had runners on 1st and 3rd. That's when Tomás Sameiro made a terrific pitch and Marshall lined out. Gone was the dream of a Coronado comeback.
