Raiders Lose to Coal Miners in Walk Off
|
The Antioch Coal Miners racked up a win at The Coal Mine, bumping off the Reno Raiders, 6-5. Alejandro Ortega, who started for Antioch, pitched effectively for his team. Antioch goes to 47-24. The win puts them 8 games up in their division.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 12th inning, when Antioch catcher Gerard Vivian, facing Gerry LaForest, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Coal Miners the 6-5 win.
"It was terrific getting this win," Ortega said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
