Cacti Topple Rockets with Late Rally

For the home crowd, it was a thrilling walk-off win.
Albuquerque beat Reno at Albuquerque Sports Stadium, eking out a 7-6 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Kanichi Kaneshiro, who earned player of the game honors. The winner was Willie Fierro in relief. His record improves to 5-2. Harsha Majoo took the loss.
Takafumi Ueno was the walk-off hero for Albuquerque. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Cacti third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Ueno told reporters after the game.
The 5th-place Rockets have lost 5 straight games.
