Extra-Inning Win by Titans over Phantoms
|
The Chicago Titans topped the Coronado Phantoms by the score of 7-6, with the largest share of the credit going to designated hitter António Rodríguez. Rodríguez was 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Titans. Chicago has a 3-game win streak, while Coronado has lost 3 in a row.
Rodríguez had a game-changing single in the top of the 11th. On a 2-2 sinker from Bruce Berardi, he banged a run-scoring single to center, giving the Titans a 7-6 lead. It was the 11th hit of the year for Rodríguez.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Chicago manager Tom Klein.
