Bomberos Roll Over Phantoms, 9-1
|
Espanola starter Mito Ishikawa pitched effectively against the Coronado Phantoms at Casa de Fuego. The right-hander led his team to a 9-1 win. Ishikawa got the win, improving to 5-4. He allowed 4 hits and walked 0 over 6.1 innings. Ishikawa allowed 1 earned run. The Bomberos bumped their record to 37-31 with this latest triumph.
Brendan Webb had a big 2-run double for the Bomberos in the bottom of the third inning. With Espanola leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Joe Starring and stroked the double to left. It was his 14th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Bomberos ahead, 3-0.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Espanola skipper Josh Zeh.
