Fort Worth rode a fine outing from starter Damien Sands to victory over the Coronado Phantoms at Phantoms Field. The final score was 3-1. Mark Edwards notched his 1st save in 1 chances. With the win over Coronado, the Cats improved to 33-34.

The Cats got a big at-bat from designated hitter Salvador Leon. For the game, Leon was 1 for 3 with a walk. In the top of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 24th hit of the season gave Fort Worth a 2-1 lead.

"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Leon said after the game.
