Racers Fall Short, 4-3, at Silver Lake
|
Bowling Green shortstop Hideaki Fujita had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Fujita went 3 for 4 with a triple and 2 singles, even as Silver Lake beat the Racers, 4-3. Fujita was named the player of the game despite the loss. Reliever Takashi Toru picked up the win. His record improves to 4-2. Nelson Cardona took the loss. Silver Lake now has a 3-game win streak.
The Baristas got a big at-bat from left fielder Paul Harris. For the game, Harris went 1 for 3 with a walk. In the bottom of the seventh, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 32nd hit of the season gave Silver Lake a 4-3 lead.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Harris told the Silver Lake Daily News.
