Baristas Come Back Late to Top Racers
|
The Silver Lake Baristas faced a tough opponent in Bowling Green pitcher Alain Picard, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Ashton Gate by a final score of 5-1. Picard went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Their 29-34 record puts the Baristas last in the Nick Adenhart League Tony La Russa Division.
Had Jon Miron not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Miron hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Baristas.
"It was a good effort all around," said Miron.
