Victory Pushes Bomberos Record to 34-30
|
Espanola starter Andy Schuman put a stranglehold on the Chicago offense. The left-hander had complete command of his slider in leading the Bomberos to a 4-0 win. The winning pitcher was Schuman, now 3-2. He tossed 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 3. The Bomberos bumped their record to 34-30 with this latest triumph.
Lewis Hoskins, who is tied for 7th in the NAL in doubles with 15, aided the Espanola cause with a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth. For the game, the third baseman went 2-3 with 2 doubles and 2 walks.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Espanola manager Josh Zeh. "Our pregame was pretty good."
