Mustangs Clip Bombers in Tight Contest
|
Billings starter Julio Rivera pitched effectively against the Bronx Bombers at Bronx Ballpark. The right-hander led his team to a 4-3 win. Bryan Lynch got credit for the win, improving to 4-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.2 innings. The Mustangs bumped their record to 32-30 with this latest triumph.
The Mustangs got a big at-bat from third baseman Kerry Hood. For the game, Hood went 1 for 4. He drove in 2 runs. In the top of the ninth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 55th hit of the season gave Billings a 4-3 lead.
"Both teams played hard," said Billings manager Bill Martin.
