Beavers Lose to Aces, 5-4
|
The Las Vegas Aces turned back the Portland Beavers, 5-4, at Waterfront Park. Doug White was named player of the game for his fine performance. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The Aces are off to a tough start, getting just their 8th win in 23 games.
The Aces got a big at-bat from first baseman Jeremy Bassett. For the game, Bassett went 1-4 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the ninth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 15th hit of the season gave Las Vegas a 5-4 lead.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Bassett.
