Aeropostales Prevail, 4-3, Over Albuquerque
|
The Albuquerque Cacti and Indian Wells Aeropostales provided some drama at Albuquerque Sports Stadium.
The Indian Wells Aeropostales took Albuquerque pitcher Tadahisa Minami's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Albuquerque Sports Stadium. The final score had Indian Wells getting past the Cacti, 4-3. Minami went 8 innings and allowed 2 earned runs, striking out 7. Indian Wells reliever Vicente Chávez picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Tadahisa Minami was saddled with the loss.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the seventh, with the game tied, Pat Pittman was at the plate when Indian Wells scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Aeropostales to go in front, 4-3.
"We take it day by day here," said Pittman, "and today was a good one for us."
With the win, Indian Wells has a record of 29-31. Albuquerque falls to 32-27.
