Rhinos Topple Black Knights with Late Rally

Fans at Blue Ivy Stadium were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Brooklyn Black Knights take on the Rubber City Rhinos.
Brooklyn shortstop Ichiyo Yano was sensational. He was 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Rubber City beat the Black Knights, 5-4. Yano was named the player of the game despite the loss. Rubber City reliever Will Taylor was the winner. His record is now 1-1. Ji-hwan Yea took the loss.
Rubber City used the timely hitting of Oscar Costales to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rhinos on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Rubber City manager Larry Johnson.
The win brings the Rhinos to 10-13, a soft start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.
