Raiders Score Late to Upend Raptors, 6-2
|
The Reno Raiders downed the Omaha Raptors, 6-2, at House of Pain. Luis Ávila led the way, going 3-for-4 for Reno. The Raptors, at 18-37, have lost 9 straight games.
Ávila had a game-changing double in the bottom of the eighth. On a 0-1 fastball from Shu-de Chia, he banged a bases-clearing double to right-center, giving the Raiders a 5-2 lead. It was the 6th double of the year for Ávila.
In postgame comments to the Reno News, Ávila said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
