The Death Star was the site of a tense game between the Minneapolis Freeze and Detroit Death Stars.

Detroit center fielder Ivan Nunez made his presence felt in the 2-1 Death Stars triumph over the Minneapolis Freeze. Nunez was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Kagera Sokoine got credit for the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.2 innings.

Nunez had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a first pitch cutter from Shinji Makino, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Death Stars a 2-1 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Nunez.

"We'll savor this win," Nunez told the Detroit Chronicle, "then get ready for the next game."

Detroit has now won 3 straight, while the Freeze have lost 3 in a row.
