The Pasadena Bumblebees got a superb performance from designated hitter Carl Eveleigh, but the Joplin Fireballs still won the game, 7-6. Eveleigh was named the player of the game despite the loss. He was 1 for 2 with a home run and 3 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Joplin reliever Ricardo Castros was credited with the win, to go to 2-0. Pepe Trevino took the loss for Pasadena. Al Hrabosky Jr. locked down his 23rd save.

Juan Gruzmán, who is tied for 3rd in the DKL in triples with 4, chipped in for Joplin with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the third. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
