Multi-HR Day for Cannavaro as Death Stars Overpower Freeze, 7-3
|
Getting a good performance from right fielder Danilo Cannavaro, the Detroit Death Stars defeated the Minneapolis Freeze, 7-3. Cannavaro hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 for the Death Stars. Patrick Charbonnier earned the win for Detroit. He lasted 6.2 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 5 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 2-3. Kent Whitten finished to wrap up his 16th save.
Seung-mun Shinn chipped in for Detroit with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Cannavaro.
